Privacy Policy
This policy is
for the MydenFocus app (Android and iOS, package
com.gorai.myedenfocus) and this website. The MydenFocus team,
in India, is the controller. MydenFocus is not a health-care service.
Nothing here is medical advice. You accept this policy in the app
before you use it.
What this app is
MydenFocus is a focus and wellness toolkit. You get deep-work timers, reset sits, optional app Guard, mood check-ins, and a coach named Myden. A lot of it can stay on your phone. If you create an account, some data syncs so it can follow you to another device.
Account information
You can sign in with Google, with Apple, or with an email and a password. From Google or Apple we get the identifiers they share. That is usually a stable account id, and an email when they send one. If you use email and a password, we store a hash of the password, not the password itself. We do not see your Google or Apple password. Sign-in runs through Firebase Authentication. We keep the account id and email with your MydenFocus account, plus sign-in times and session tokens, so we can keep you signed in and protect the account. We may email a one-time code to sign in or to confirm that you want the account deleted.
App data we sync when you are signed in
To restore your progress, we may store:
- Focus session history (durations, labels, completion)
- Reset meditation history (type, duration, optional notes)
- Mood check-ins and journal text you choose to save
- Onboarding answers and the plan Myden builds from them
- Streaks, milestones, and related progress
- Guard settings you pick in the app (limits and schedules, not a dump of everything on your phone)
- Preferences such as reminders and audio choices
Journal and mood entries are yours. We use them to show your trends in the app. We do not sell a profile of your feelings. Mood check-ins and meditation notes can show how you feel. We upload them only after you choose Sync in the app. If you keep them on the phone, they stay there.
Myden and Google Gemini
If you hold the mic to talk to Myden, the recording, a transcript, and a short summary of your day go to our server and then to Google Gemini so Myden can reply. That summary can include your first name, mood scores, streaks, and the names of your top apps when Screen Time or usage access shares them. The app asks before the first recording. Dictation for notes stays on the device.
Cloud summary is off until you turn it on in Settings. When it is on, the same kind of day summary is sent to Google Gemini to write the insight. We do not use coach audio, transcripts, or those summaries for advertising.
Usage analytics
Usage analytics stays off until you turn it on. During setup the switch is Help improve MydenFocus. In Settings it is Usage analytics. After that, Firebase may keep an app-instance identifier with those events. We do not attach your account id, and we do not use the events for ads. You can turn this off in Settings.
On-device permissions
Some features need OS permission. We ask only when the feature needs it:
- Notifications: session end and sit reminders
- Microphone: only while you hold the button to talk to Myden, or to dictate a note. Coach audio is described above. Dictation stays on the device.
- Foreground or background execution: so a timer can finish if you leave the screen
- Usage access (Android) or Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS): for Guard, to cap or block apps you choose, and for day context. Totals and the names of the apps you used that day (when the platform shares them) can be included in the day summary sent to Google Gemini when you talk to Myden or turn on cloud summary. We do not upload a dump of everything on your phone.
- Accessibility (Android), if you turn Guard on: the service looks at window labels and view ids inside Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook to notice Reels or Shorts. That text is used on the device to press back or show the block. It is not uploaded.
Purchases
The Golden plan is sold through Google Play and the App Store. Payment details stay with Apple or Google. We use RevenueCat to know whether your account has an active entitlement so the app can unlock unlimited focus, unlimited reset meditations, and insights and daily plans. We do not store full card numbers.
Email and notices
If we have an email for your account, we send mail the account needs (sign-in, security, purchase). If you leave the Golden plan without subscribing, we email a discount code to that address. That is not a notice that a store charge is about to happen. Apple or Google send their own purchase and renewal mail. Comeback notes and session reminder emails are on unless you turn them off. In the EU, the EEA, the UK, Canada, and Australia the app shows that switch during permissions setup, already on. Everywhere else those emails are on without that switch. You can turn them off in Notification Settings, or use the unsubscribe link.
This website
The marketing site at mydenfocus.app does not require an account to read. It links to the App Store and Google Play so you can download MydenFocus. Hosting logs may include a technical address, user agent, and the page requested. That is the usual cost of delivering a website. We do not put a third-party advertising pixel on this site. If you joined an earlier waitlist, those addresses last until you unsubscribe with the link in those emails, or write to us and we will delete the address.
Problem reports
If you report a problem, we email the message, the address on the account or the one you type, the platform, and any photo or screen recording you attach. You get a copy of that email. The attachment is not stored on our servers.
Why we use data
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies:
- Account, synced sessions, streaks, preferences, and store entitlement: to perform the contract, which is providing the app you asked for.
- Mood check-ins, session notes, coach audio and day summaries, cloud summary, usage analytics, comeback and reminder email, and any earlier waitlist address: consent. You can withdraw it in the app, or with the unsubscribe link for email.
- The discount email after you leave the Golden plan: legitimate interest in sending the code for the plan you just viewed.
- Security, fraud, and abuse: legitimate interests in keeping the service safe.
- Records a law requires us to keep: legal obligation.
If you are in the EEA or the United Kingdom, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict, or receive a copy of your personal data, and you can object to use based on legitimate interests. You can complain to your local data protection authority. Email us for a copy of the synced account data.
Who else sees data
These processors see only what they need for their job: the host that runs the API and database, Firebase Authentication, Firebase Analytics if you opt in, Google Gemini for coach replies and cloud summaries, RevenueCat, Apple, Google Play, and the service that sends email. We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your journal as advertising inventory. Data can be processed in India and in the countries where those processors operate, including the United States.
How long we keep it
Account and synced app data last as long as the account does. After you confirm deletion in the app or at mydenfocus.app/delete-account/, signing in within 30 days restores the account. After that, the account and its synced data are erased, aside from what we must keep to look into abuse. Auth sessions expire. If you uninstall without deleting the account, cloud data may remain until you delete it. Earlier waitlist addresses last until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Email us if you want a copy of the synced account data.
Your choices
- Use the app signed out for local-only use where the build allows it
- Skip Guard and we will not ask for usage or Screen Time permission
- Turn off notifications in system settings
- Delete your account at mydenfocus.app/delete-account/, or ask us by email
- If you joined an earlier waitlist, unsubscribe with the link in the mail, or ask us to delete that address
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Write to us and we will handle the request we can actually fulfill. Store purchases still follow Apple or Google.
Children
MydenFocus is not designed for children. During onboarding the app asks how old you are. We store that number with your onboarding answers, and a yes/no eligibility flag. We do not store a date of birth. If you think we have an account for someone who should not be using the service, email us and we will delete it.
As is
Information on this site and in the app is provided as is. We do not warrant that it is complete, error-free, or always available. Trends, plans, and Myden copy are tools for you, not a guarantee of any result.
Limitation of liability
Where the law allows a limit, we are not liable for lost work, missed exams, lost profits, or other indirect damages from using or being unable to use MydenFocus. This does not limit liability the law says cannot be capped, including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or a privacy duty that cannot be waived. Where a cap is allowed, it is the amount you paid for the Golden plan in the twelve months before the claim, or zero if you did not pay.
Indemnification
If you misuse the app or site, break the law with it, or submit content you do not have the right to share, you will cover the reasonable costs we take on because of that, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.
Termination
You can stop using MydenFocus and ask us to delete your account. We can suspend or end access if you break these rules, abuse the service, or if we shut the product down. Store purchases and refunds still follow Apple or Google.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date here and ask you in the app before the new version applies to you.
